The Relationship Between Knowledge and Media Exposure with Covid-19 Prevention Behavior in Adolescents in Papanggo North Jakarta

Abstract
Based on data from mid-July 2021, there were 286 active cases of COVID-19 in Papanggo Village. This study aims to find out the relationship of knowledge and media exposure to COVID-19 prevention behavior in adolescents in Papanggo Village in North Jakarta in 2021. This research was conducted by quantitative methods with a cross-sectional study design. The research was conducted in July - August 2021 with Google Forms. The study sample included 83 teenagers living on RT 003/03 & and RT 006/03, which numbered 83 people taken by accidental sampling method. The analysis in this study used the chi-square test. Univariate results showed that as many as 59% of respondents had good COVID-19 prevention behavior, then it was found that 92.8% of respondents had good knowledge about COVID-19, in the media exposure variable as many as 54.2% of respondents were positively exposed to COVID-19 information media. The results of this study also found that there is a significant relationship between knowledge and COVID-19 prevention behavior (p-value = 0.028), and there is also a relationship between media exposure and COVID-19 prevention behavior (p-value = 0.001). Based on the results of the study, adolescents are advised to maintain knowledge and keep abreast of COVID-19 development information.
